Selvedge Spring Fair

So after we had been bowled over at Somerset House with wonderful woolliness and fabulous photography, we caught a bus across London (the best way to travel across the city apart from walking!) and dropped into the Selvedge Spring Fair, a first for me and quite a treat.Apart from the lovely things on show it was a treat to meet the makers and designers.

Apologies and Woolly Excitement!

Firstly, apologies for the wall of silence - I blame the cats, the weather, the children.... actually it's just me feeling SAD (not in a  official doctory sort of way just generally a bit flat) and lack of creative activity. However the last couple of weeks I have been turning this around and have started cutting and stitching in readiness for Art Weeks in May and visiting inspiring events. So on Saturday I met up with a couple of like minded friends and we hit Somerset House in a gentle blizzard. It was all rather 'Doctor Zhivago' with snow swirling around the courtyard and people wrapped up against the cold in ubiquitous black, very picturesque.
And the show, Wool House, was great, I hadn't done a heap of research ahead of the trip so it all came as a delightful surprise.
And as a bonus we visited an extensive photography exhibition on the theme 'Landscape' - fab!! Sadly the wool show closed yesterday so I can't recommend a visit but the photography show is on until April 28th and it's free.
