Designed and art directed new look stand for the Embroiderers’ Guild at the Knit and Stitch Show, Alexander Palace. Advised textile graduates, acted as hostess on the stand

Moved to Canada, set up several sewing clubs at local schools for ages 8 -13

2008 - 09
PGCE DT textiles at Goldsmiths University of London

Ran ‘Photographic Composition’ evening course at Oxford Brookes University in association with the Oxford Photographers’ Workshop

Devised and ran creative courses for ABC Summer School at St. Edwards School, Oxford, included animation photography and typography, ages 13-18

Set up Sew & Sew Club to teach primary school children how to stitch and make

External examiner for TV Production and Design BA (Hons) course at Kingston University

1999
Left BBC to go freelance, jobs included 'Foyle's War' and 'Cambridge Spies'

1985 - 94
Full time at the BBC as a graphic designer, designing, directing and producing a wide range on screen sequences eg ‘Our Friends in the North', 'Tracy Beaker', Queen’s Christmas speech.

Represented the Graphic Design Department at numerous industry events including BAFTA, RTS, the Media Show and at Buckingham Palace

Regularly mentored work placement students and lectured at design colleges

1993 & 96
Invited to join BBC Schools as director for ‘The Art’, an inspirational series about art, craft and design for KS3

1994
Invited by the publishers Mitchell Beazley to co-write and design projects for ‘Contemporary Needlepoint Design, a fresh take on a traditional craft

1994 - 96
Went part time, 3 days at the BBC, 2 days at Kingston University running the Film and Animation School – found placements for students where appropriate, and several students won international film competitions and have gone on to successful careers in the industry

Other stuff

Designed and produced eighty embroidered velvet scarves for opening night of ‘Mary Poppins’ on Broadway NY

Designed and produced 400 velvet scarves for vis FX company ‘Framestore’

Ran a careers advice table at BAFTA TV/film symposium

Shot & produced a 15 minute film documenting the funeral of Sir John Miller  of Shotover House, equerry to the Queen. HRH was delighted with the result

Filmed by CBBC making the titles for Tracy Beaker. The item ran on BBC1 and BBC2 and was included on the Tracy Beaker web-site as part of their ‘Behind the Scenes’ series  

Attended 2 week course at BBC Elstree – studio & location shoot skills

Attended 1 week course at BBC Evesham – team building/leadership skills

Invited to have a table at BAFTA's working in the industry fair
